About Persian Techies
Persian Techies is a community for Persian-speaking technology professionals and others interested in technology, knowledge sharing, networking and professional development in Sweden.
The website is available at https://persiantechies.org/ and provides information about the community, membership, events and related activities.
Scope and acceptance
These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Persian Techies website, your website account, participation in community activities arranged through the website, and event registration and ticket purchases, where applicable.
By using relevant website features, creating an account, registering for an event or purchasing a ticket, you agree to the terms applicable to that activity. Where explicit acceptance is required, we will request it at the relevant point.
Additional terms may apply to particular events. If event-specific terms differ from these Terms, the event-specific terms will apply to that event to the extent stated and permitted by applicable law.
Website accounts and acceptable use
When creating an account, you agree to provide accurate information and keep it reasonably up to date.
You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for activities carried out through your account, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
You must not:
- Use the website for unlawful, fraudulent or misleading purposes.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the website, its accounts or its systems.
- Interfere with the website’s operation, security or availability.
- Impersonate another person or misuse another person’s personal information.
- Post or transmit content that violates applicable law or the community’s published policies.
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect users, the website or the community, subject to applicable law and any applicable review process.
Community participation and Code of Conduct
All members, attendees, organizers, administrators and other representatives are expected to behave respectfully and help maintain a welcoming and inclusive community.
Participation in Persian Techies activities is subject to the Community Code of Conduct:
The Code of Conduct addresses unacceptable behavior, reporting concerns and possible consequences. Depending on the circumstances, measures may include a warning, temporary suspension or removal from community activities. Serious misconduct may justify immediate action.
The rules apply equally to organizers and other people in positions of responsibility. Concerns should be handled fairly and, where practicable, reviewed by someone who is not directly involved in the matter.
Any action taken under the Code of Conduct must remain consistent with applicable law and any contractual or statutory rights that apply.
Official announcements and communication
The Official Communication Policy establishes how official Persian Techies announcements and decisions are communicated:
The website is the authoritative source for official announcements, event information and organizational decisions covered by that policy. Other communication channels may share links to the relevant website announcements.
Community members may continue to discuss topics and share information through community channels, subject to the Code of Conduct and applicable policies. Such discussions do not automatically constitute official decisions or announcements.
Events and registration
Persian Techies may organize events, presentations, workshops, networking sessions and other community activities. Events may be free or paid and may have limited capacity or specific participation requirements.
Registration is subject to the information and conditions stated on the relevant event page. Please check the event date, time, location, ticket type, price and any other requirements before registering.
Registration does not guarantee entry if the registration is incomplete, invalid or does not meet the clearly stated requirements for the event.
You must provide accurate registration information. Tickets and registrations may not be transferred or resold where the relevant event conditions expressly prohibit this.
Ticket purchases and payments
Where an event requires payment, the ticket price, applicable charges, ticket type and payment conditions will be presented before the purchase is completed.
Before payment, the checkout process must identify the person or legal entity responsible for the ticket sale and provide the information required by applicable law.
Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers. Their processing of payment information is subject to their applicable terms and privacy practices.
A booking confirmation or ticket will be provided through the relevant registration or ticketing system, subject to successful completion of the transaction.
Ticket purchases are subject to these Terms and any additional event-specific purchase conditions disclosed before payment.
Cancellations, refunds and event changes
Refund and cancellation arrangements are set out in the separate Refund & Cancellation Policy:
The policy explains the general rules for free-ticket cancellations, paid-ticket refund requests, no-shows, event cancellations and event postponements or changes.
The general refund-request deadline for paid tickets is at least 24 hours before the scheduled start of the event, subject to the conditions set out in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Event-specific conditions will be disclosed on the relevant event page or during checkout before the purchase is completed.
Nothing in the Refund & Cancellation Policy or these Terms removes any mandatory rights under applicable law. Where a mandatory legal right conflicts with a policy provision, the legal right takes precedence.
Intellectual property and user-submitted content
Unless otherwise stated, website text, branding, graphics and other original materials are owned by or used with permission by their respective rights holders.
You may not reproduce, distribute or commercially exploit these materials without the necessary permission, except where permitted by applicable law.
If you submit content to the website or community, you retain ownership of your content. You grant the relevant website or community operator permission to use, display and reproduce that content only to the extent reasonably necessary to provide the service or activity for which it was submitted, subject to applicable law and any separate agreement.
You must have the necessary rights and permissions to submit content and must not submit material that unlawfully infringes another person’s rights.
Event photography, video and recordings
Some events may involve photography, video recording or other documentation for community communications and event reporting.
Where photography or recording is planned, attendees should be informed appropriately. Attendance alone should not be treated as blanket consent to every use of a person’s image, voice or other personal data.
Where consent is the applicable legal basis, it must be obtained appropriately. Other lawful bases may apply in particular circumstances, subject to applicable law.
If you have concerns about being photographed or recorded, please contact the organizers before or during the event so that reasonable arrangements can be discussed.
Any processing of personal data associated with photography, video or recordings is also subject to the Privacy Policy.
Third-party services and links
The website may use or link to third-party services, including website hosting, registration systems, payment providers, communication tools and social media platforms.
Those services may be subject to separate terms and privacy policies. Persian Techies does not control all third-party services and is not responsible for their independent operations, except to the extent responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded.
Links to external websites are provided for convenience and do not necessarily constitute an endorsement of their content or services.
Website availability and changes
We aim to keep the website useful and accessible but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability or that every feature will always operate without errors.
We may update, maintain, modify or discontinue website features where reasonably necessary. We will take reasonable steps to avoid unnecessary disruption where practicable.
This section does not exclude any obligations that apply under mandatory law.
Liability
We will act with reasonable care in operating the website and arranging community activities.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law, including any mandatory consumer rights.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Persian Techies is not responsible for losses arising solely from circumstances outside the responsible operator’s reasonable control, interruptions caused by third-party services, or users’ misuse of the website.
This section does not create a blanket exclusion of liability and must be interpreted consistently with applicable law.
Privacy and personal data
Personal data is handled in accordance with the Persian Techies Privacy Policy:
The Privacy Policy explains how personal data is collected and used, the purposes and legal bases for processing, relevant recipients, retention practices and how individuals may exercise their rights.
Please review the Privacy Policy before creating an account, registering for an event or providing personal information.
These Terms do not replace the Privacy Policy or any obligations imposed by applicable data protection law.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the website, community activities, event arrangements or applicable legal requirements.
The current version will be published on the website with its latest update date. Where a change materially affects an existing contractual relationship, we will provide notice or seek agreement where required by applicable law.
Changes will not retrospectively remove rights that have already accrued or override mandatory legal protections.
Applicable law and disputes
These Terms are intended to be governed by Swedish law, subject to any mandatory rules that apply to the particular user or transaction.
If a concern arises, please contact us first so that we can try to resolve it informally.
Nothing in these Terms prevents a person from exercising applicable statutory rights or using any competent dispute-resolution body or court available under applicable law.
